Adrenal Hormone

The adrenal glands are the small glands that sit on top of the kidneys. They important for the pathways that make the stress hormone (cortisol) as well as hormones of fluid management. The reproductive hormones are also made in the adrenal glands (Estrogens and Testosterone). These tiny glands are churning out important hormones constantly. The stress hormone cortisol is critical for the dealing of the daily stresses of life. Cortisol modulates the stress response so that you can deal with and survive the stress. Sometimes the cortisol is so overproduced due to severe stress that is can shut down. Adrenal fatigue is a condition that results when there is a deficiency of cortisol in your daily life. Severe fatigue and inability to deal with stress sets in and can ruin your day. Proper immune function depends on the adrenal gland as well. DHEAS (the most abundant hormone in the body) is not only a pro-hormone in the production of Testosterone , but also important for proper immune function.
